FYI, this standalone store boasts a retail footprint of close to 18,000 sf and marks the 30th store in Malaysia since inception back in 2011.
If you didn’t know, Sports Direct is the UK’s largest sporting goods retailer by revenue and operates a diversified portfolio of sports, fitness, fashion and lifestyle fascia’s brands. Sports Direct Malaysia currently operates 30 retail stores and manages a proprietary sportdirect.com e-commerce site for domestic and regional fulfilment.
Paul Gibbons, Managing Director of Sports Direct Malaysia also said that “we are continuing to develop this new store concept as part of our elevation strategy to enhance the customer experience throughout their shopping journey. Our principal aim remains as delivering unparalleled value and variety but now in a fresh, easy-to-shop format across our various sports and lifestyle zones”.
Some of the unique zoned by key sports categories include SD Football, SD Running, SD Training (fitness, cross-training, gym equipment, weights, boxing, yoga), SD Rackets (badminton, tennis, squash), SD Swimming (pool, beach, water sports), SD Sports (basketball, rugby, extreme games, cycling, skates and indoor games), SD Lifestyle (Kids Women & Men) and SD outdoor (Hiking, trekking, camping and fishing).
