Have you watched Deadpool before? Well, if you're under 18, maybe you haven't. The movie is rated R for its liberal use of swear words and some violence. Initially, it wasn't very well received, what with superhero movies being a family-friendly franchise.
However, soon it was embraced with open arms. Everyone fell in love with Deadpool's witty one-liners that more often than not, broke the fourth wall. Although some were disappointed that they couldn't bring their kids, people were mostly excited about this new superhero gone rouge.
Alas, Marvel might change their minds about our beloved foul mouthed superhero! Now that Deadpool is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the director for Deadpool 2 has announced that he wants to keep the merger between Fox Movies who owns Deadpool, and Disney. His statement is as follows:
It’s rated R so that’s not necessarily the [MCU] brand, but he doesn’t necessarily need to be R and [Disney] don’t necessarily need to only make PG-13 movies. I think we’ll find a happy ground.
What does that mean? Will Disney give way to an R-rated movie? Or will Deadpool become a family friendly film? Either way, fans are not happy that they're even considering watering Deadpool down.
