It's durian season once again! Whether you love it or loathe it, the durian fruit is a national heritage that is here to stay. Its pungent smell might not be welcome in hotels and professional settings, but is always welcome in our hearts!
The love some people have for the fruit has been cause for durian to be used very creatively. We see durian used in other food, like in durian puffs, tarts, ice cream and even in cendol.

On the weirder side of things, there is also durian chocolate, coffee, bak kwa and even condoms, which we're not sure if we'll appreciate as much. But hey, to each their own, right?

Now, Singapore is out with the latest durian product that left us feeling pretty conflicted. The Durian Whiskey is basically a creamy whiskey, which is made by preserving blended durian flesh with whisky. It has an 18% alcohol percentage.
But wait, haven't people said that mixing durian and alcohol is dangerous? Well, worry no more, because The Durian Whiskey's website has a whole section dedicated to research that says that outside of feeling a little tipsy, it should leave no fatal consequences.
