Travelling is medicine for the soul, but as anyone who’s caught the wanderlust bug knows, it’s not always glamorous. Many grand adventures, especially when venturing off-the-beaten-path come with their fair share of bumps, bruises, germs and stresses.
It can be tempting to feel overwhelmed and intimidated by the idea of leaving life’s comforts at home. But thankfully, wellness travel is the future. To help keep your mind, body and spirit in full working order.
1. Sleep, sleep, and sleep

The most important thing you can do while traveling is sleep. Your body needs rest when you’re physically travelling, crossing time zones, carrying luggage to and from destinations, walking all day, and so forth. Travelling is harsh on your body so make sure you get plenty of rest.
2. Time for a digital detox?

A quick and easy way to give your mind and soul a little boost is to detox from the digital world. Anyone who has travelled in less developed countries will testify that some of the happiest people in the world are those with a lot fewer possessions than us lucky travellers.
3. Walk everywhere

Get your daily exercise and truly learn about a place at the same time. The train station is 1.5 miles away? How about walking there instead of hopping on metro? Skip the elevator or escalator and walk the stairs instead!
4. Always drink responsibly

We know, we know. Backpackers LOVE a good party. Often hostel bars are at the centre of some of the most epic nights out. Just let your liver breathe a little, and make sure you don’t drink so much that you don’t even remember your trip!
5. Learn to sleep whenever/wherever you can

Now this is a practice that you have to learn. Wherever you travel, surely your hotel or hostel room is not ready yet and so, if you want to have a good shut eye, just find the perfect and comfortable place to have a good sleep.
Well looks like you can have a time of your life when travelling by staying healthy as well. So, go ahead plan your vacation and have a healthy trip.
