Just like Bali, Lombok is known for pristine beaches and mountains. However, Indonesia is prone to the earthquake as it is located on the arc of volcanoes and fault lines in the Pacific Basin. Last Sunday (July 29), a magnitude 6.4 quake hit Lombok which killed 17 people.
Yesterday (August 5), a strong earthquake has once again struck the Indonesian tourist island of Lombok, killing at least 82 people and shaking neighbouring Bali.
