If you're a thrill seeker, you would have probably already heard of Penang's Escape Theme Park. Unlike other theme parks with Ferris wheels and merry-go-rounds, Escape is more of an adventure park, with modified bunjee jumping platforms, climbing towers, ziplines and so much more.

However, Escape also features a number of water-based installations, like a lazy river, a splash pool and various water slides with different features. This coming August, a new waterslide will be joining the family of water slides that are featured in the park.
The park's newest waterslide will be 1,140m long and is set to be the longest in the world. To give you an idea of how long that is, if you were to put both the twin towers of KLCC together, it would only be a little over 900m!

Of course, the slide is not a death drop from the top. The slide is actually designed so that guests can get a full view of not only the park, but the nature surrounding it. To preserve nature, installation was done manually, without the use of heavy machinery. In fact, no trees were cut down either!
The waterslide is 78m above sea level and is built on a hill. Because it is so long, it'll take guests four minutes just to get through the whole thing. Later development will include a chairlift, or a cable car, to transport guests to the top of the hill. The chairlift will also function for other rides.

For the slide to get the coveted title of world's longest slide, it will be first tested by the Guinness World Records officials. We wish we had their job!
Will you be taking a trip up north this August?
